Day 21 – Goro 2 to Kobuche: Journey Highlights

Goro 2 to Kobuche – 9 hours

We set off early again. Heading downhill was easier, but the path remained rugged, slippery, and challenging. Warmer temperatures at this altitude are a relief, though it’s not as scorching as on the way in. On our descent, we passed a few groups heading up, their faces showing exhaustion. We give them encouraging words, “It’s worth it!”
Today was a milestone: we left the glacier for the first time in over two weeks. I expected the terrain to change, but it’s still a rocky, dusty path.

Kobuche is a beautiful camp, and part of us wishes we could rest here to soak it all in. But our rest days were used up nursing ailments in Concordia. Despite it all, we’re grateful for the journey—and every view that makes it unforgettable.
