Day 25 – A Memorable Morning in Skardu: Breakfast and Buddha Rock

Today, we finally had a lie-in! After a leisurely morning, we indulged in a big breakfast of eggs, pancakes, and more paratha bread. Though it was tempting to take it easy, we couldn’t resist the urge to explore Skardu.

We set out to see the sights, including Buddha Rock—one of the last remaining Buddha monuments in Pakistan. Wandering through town, we soaked in the lively sounds and scenes of the city.

Dinner was a big celebration with our guides, a mix of gratitude and farewells. Murad was off to his next adventure, while Shamu would be joining us for the final leg of ours. We ended the day with a treat of local Pakistani ice cream, served by a vendor whose passion for his craft was clear.
Tomorrow, it’s back on the road for another long drive as we head toward the starting point of our last hike and base camp.
