Today, we embarked on a heart-stopping drive to Fairy Meadows, bidding farewell to our lead guide Murad and welcoming Hidayat and a new driver. Our team was smaller now—just six of us—but the excitement was as high as ever.

The first seven hours took us along the famous Karakoram Highway. Although most of the road was smooth, landslide scars and sudden drops to the roaring river below kept us on edge. We stopped midway for breakfast, enjoying paratha and chickpea curry with a touch of jam.
After reaching Raikot Bridge, the real adventure began. We climbed into an old 1960s jeep to tackle one of the world’s most dangerous roads. Narrow, gravelly, and with a sheer 100-meter drop into the ravine, this route was nerve-wracking. Our experienced driver navigated the treacherous mountain climb with impressive ease, turning a tense two-hour drive into a breathtaking experience.

At the drop-off point, we refueled with a quick lunch and set off on the final two-hour hike to Fairy Meadows. Fresh from our Karakoram trek, we tackled the hike effortlessly. Other tourists on the trail seemed awestruck by William’s energy, while they were visibly struggling.
By the time we arrived at Fairy Meadows, we were ready for a hearty meal amidst the alpine beauty—a perfect end to a thrilling day.
